Street Event Company, the organisation appointed to manage the delivery of a better, safer Carnival in 2017 is now on Facebook. Running alongside the new website and @W11Carnival Twitter account, social media is being applied as never before with Carnival to ensure a coordinated approach to official messaging.
The website, @W11Carnival Twitter feed and Facebook supplement the SEC’s outreach meetings with local residents, training sessions and safety briefings for bands and close liaison with stewarding management, the Met Police, TfL, local councils and the Mayor of London’s office. Greater emphasis is being placed on communications and engagement than for any previous Carnival.
Supplementing the new Carnival website nottinghillcarnivalguide.com and @W11Carnival, the Facebook page will carry new developments, announcements of acts scheduled for the World Music Stage and other special events at this year’s Carnival. It will also be used for public safety advice bulletins in the approach to Carnival.
