Street Event Company, the organisation appointed by London Notting Hill Carnival Enterprises Trust to manage the delivery of a better and safer Carnival in 2017, today launches a new website nottinghillcarnivalguide.com for Europe’s greatest annual street festival.

nottinghillcarnivalguide.com is the official, authorised online event management guide to Notting Hill Carnival. The site aims to provide up-to-the-minute news on Carnival for visitors to the event, participants in the bands and sound systems and for those living in and around the streets of Notting Hill. It is the first time such a comprehensive, authorised site for Carnival has been published.

Street Event Company’s Director of Communications, Andrew Hillier, said today:

“Starting from scratch just a few weeks ago, we’ve managed to design and build a very reasonable online presence. Of course, it is a work-in-progress: as plans for Carnival are cemented in the weeks leading up to August bank holiday weekend, so further detailed information will be added to the site.”

Andrew adds: “We hope the new site will be as relevant to those living in Notting Hill as it will be to everybody participating in, and attending the event.”

Changes to Carnival this year to address public safety concerns are likely. The new website will carry news of the improvements as decisions are made. A map of Carnival’s route is a feature of the site complete with locations of public conveniences, first aid points, venues and static sound systems.

The site launches alongside a new authorised Twitter news feed for Carnival @W11Carnival.

The organiser of Notting Hill Carnival, the London Notting Hill Carnival Enterprises Trust (LNHCET) has for the first time in Carnival’s 50-year history, appointed an event management company to take over the management and logistics of delivering a safer, better Carnival in 2017.

Street Event Company, which manages the event, is now liaising closely with LNHCET, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster City Council, the GLA, Metropolitan Police Service, and other delivery partners, to ensure Carnival 2017 provides the spectacle, fun and celebration of the arts it is famous for, whilst addressing security and safety concerns raised since the 2016 event.
