Official Carnival Event Management Twitter @W11Carnival Now Live

Street Event Company, the organisation working with London Notting Hill Carnival Enterprises Trust to manage the delivery of a better and safer Carnival in 2017, today launches the new official Carnival event news Twitter feed.

Supporting the new Carnival website nottinghillcarnivalguide.com the Twitter account will feature breaking news, changes to scheduling and up-to-the-minute information about bands and sound systems. It will also be used for safety advice bulletins throughout the weekend.

Adjustments to Carnival this year to address public safety concerns following the 2016 Carnival are likely and @W11Carnival will be used to announce changes as they are decided. @W11Carnival will be part of the online suite together with nottinghillcarnivalguide.com and the Carnival Facebook page.

Andrew Hillier, SEC Director of Communications, said today:

“We’ve had just a few weeks to devise and implement a communications and engagement strategy for the world’s second biggest street festival. Social media is a critical part of our strategy and we will be building on our work this year to develop a more sophisticated and comprehensive approach for 2018. Synchronising messaging with our colleagues at TfL, the local council, Met Police and other delivery partners, will be key in ensuring we engage effectively with our audiences.”
