In addition to the famous parade route there are some thirty static sound systems located around Notting Hill’s streets over Carnival. The location of each sound system is flagged on the Carnival map on this site.
In addition to the parade route and static sound sytems, Carnival has three main venues: Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance, the World Music Stage at Powis Square and of course, the Judging Point on the Great Western Road. These can also be found on the interactive Google map on this site.
Information on scheduled and special events to be held at Carnival’s main venues will be announced on Twitter @W11Carnival, on Facebook and full details will be found here. Bookmark this page and check back often for updates.
Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance is where Carnival starts. The venue for Panorama, it hosts the very best of steel band music on the Saturday night before Carnival.
The World Music Stage features the pick of UK Calypsonians, soca artists, visiting international artists and other emerging acts.
The bands’ performances are spectacular, dramatic and colourful culminations of year-round practice. So… be sure to see the best of the best at the judging point.
